I have been playing around with composite images for a very long time. My first composite (merging 2 images) was in Graphic Design school using Photoshop 2.0 in 1997! It wasn't awesome I can tell you now!
I have wanted to do more photography that challenges my creative side and brings a sense of fun into an image. So I took my children out for an afternoon of "using your imagination" the photographs are result of what I had envisioned and how of course how well my children imagined the scene around them :)
I told my kids what I was doing and I asked them, "Can you see the Zebra?" Jonah looked and looked and finally said, "NO!", which was hilarious in itself. I asked them to touch the moon and they reached and reached...
Last night I spent hours editing and when my kids woke up I showed them what I had done and both were in amazement... Ava said, "You know Mom, when you said look at the Zebra there wasn't one there but you kept on saying no, look at it's nose... and wow, Mom... you were right you caught it!! It was there the whole time!". Jonah nearly had cardiac arrest because Man.. there is the Zebra!! There is the moon... his 2 year old mind was blown! Their imagination was challenged and then the result was that I had actually found it for them!
I would love to do more of this photography/art!
Lets make your kids dreams come true smile emoticon
